There’s help. I can help you!

Do not suffer alone and in silence.  Let’s chat and discuss how I can help you.

Menopause is the end of periods and fertility. It is a normal and natural event that all women will go through, on average at age 52. Menopausal changes can start 10 years before the last period. This time is called perimenopause.

Perimenopause causes many physical, emotional, and cognitive changes and these can start in a woman’s late 30s or early 40s.

Are you feeling “off”? Anxious? Overwhelmed? “Not yourself”? Feeling hot? Fatigued? Uninterested in sex? Do you yell at your loved ones and feel horrified and sorry the next minute? Is your body shape changing?

These and other symptoms that affect your quality of life, relationships, and work during this phase of life could be related to the hormonal changes of midlife. Just because perimenopause is a natural journey in a woman’s life doesn’t mean you can’t do anything about it and must suffer through it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I book an appointment with you?

Because there’s so much misinformation about menopause, so many false claims and marketing pitches disguised as fact in the media that you need someone with scientific knowledge to help you separate the wheat from the chaff. I’ve been working in healthcare for more than 20 years and have a lot of experience in patient-centered care, therapy management, and disease prevention. I am a Certified Menopause Practitioner and offer evidence-based advice. I became a menopause expert because I want to help women who are struggling through menopause. Most women do not know what to expect from menopause. I advise you to start getting educated early, because the time leading up to menopause (called perimenopause) when your hormones are all over the place, may start in your late 30s or early 40s, and can be very challenging.Also, you probably feel better getting advice from someone who knows what you’re going through, who listens, understands, and sympathizes. I do! I’ve been through it all myself. I still remember the day, when I was in perimenopause, when my son asked me if I was bipolar because my mood swings were so intense. It’s not easy to live in a body and mind that are going through such big changes that one doesn’t recognize oneself anymore. I can help you from my personal experience, education, training and knowledge.

Why don’t I just see my family doctor?

Because your doctor doesn’t have time to listen to your complaints about decreased sex drive, pain with sex, crying spells, anxiety, lack of sleep, forgetfulness … if these topics even come up during your doctor’s appointment! Besides with only 8 minutes to spend with you, your doctor may misdiagnose you and prescribe the wrong treatment, such as antidepressants for mental health.

I don’t want to take medications, why should I see you?

I know about drugs, better than most doctors do, but I’m not going to “push them on you”. I don’t like to take medications myself and I don’t believe in “a pill for every ill”. What I’ll give you is information about what you’re going through, what’s happening to your body and mind, information about available treatment options (drug and non-drug options). We’ll discuss which therapies are right for you and which ones aren’t safe. This will empower you to make informed decisions regarding your care. There’s nothing cookie-cutter about treatment for menopause—treatment it’s individualized. We are all different and what’s best for your friend or neighbour, or even your sister, may not be advisable or safe for you. Before I see you need to fill out a questionnaire that I developed to help me gather relevant information about you, your health and personal and familial history, in order to make sound recommendations.

What do you think about Hormone therapy and bioidentical therapy?

Hormone Therapy (HT) can be the same as bioidentical hormones. It means the hormones prescribed to you are identical on a molecular level to the hormones your body produces. HT is an option, especially for women with moderate to severe menopause symptoms for whom lifestyle changes and other approaches do not work. If you want more detailed information about bio-identical hormones read my blogs;
