Brain Food by Dr Lisa Mosconi – WHIM Network Book Club

September 29, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
$20
Brain Food by Dr. Lisa Mosconi

Many women fear they have dementia when they start forgetting words and their kid’s names during the menopause transition.  That’s why I chose Brain Food by Dr Lisa Mosconi for the September WHIM (Women’s Health In Midlife) Network book club.

Dr. Lisa Mosconi is a neuroscientist researching how low levels of estrogen in menopause affect women’s brain and how it relates to dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Brain Food by Dr Lisa Mosconi is available from the Toronto Public Library and Indigo. Join me to discuss a wealth of information about brain health and how to keep your brain healthy to minimize the risk of cognitive diseases like dementia and Alzheimer’s.

The “whatyoumaycallit” phase is usually worst during perimenopause, the years leading up to menopause (the last period), and usually improves in postmenopause. For most women, knowing this is part of the hormonal changes of midlife and not a life-long sentence makes it easier to accept and live through. But just because it’s an expected phase let’s not be complacent, let’s make sure you know what to do to optimize your brain function and health.

What you eat is important for brain health — that’s why I chose Brain Food by Dr Lisa Mosconi.
