Food and Mood – The gut-brain connection

November 18 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Food and Mood - The gut-brain connection
Women are more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease. What you eat or don’t eat & your lifestyle affect your brain health and cognition. Learn about Food and Mood – The gut-brain connection.

Many of us know the role that food can play when it comes to stress, anxiety and depression, but aren’t necessarily familiar with why and how this happens.!

And did you know that studies are showing Alzheimer’s may start in our brains 30-50 years before we see any symptoms… and that food is one of the main culprits?

Join me, Teresa Isabel Dias, founder of MenopausED, and my guest speaker Gillian Bogden, founder of GB Wellness, to learn how food and lifestyle literally lay the foundation for a healthy brain, as well as how we could potentially stop Alzheimer’s in its tracks.

This is an this ONLINE event via Zoom. Upon registration you will receive by email a Zoom link to join us. A reminder with the Zoom link will also be emailed to you the day of the event.

My Guest Speaker, Gillian Bogden is on a mission to change the way we think about food.

As a holistic nutritionist, health coach, a graduate of George Brown’s Culinary Arts Program and founder of gbwellness, Gillian focuses on how what we eat touches every facet of our lives.

Having battled her own food issues for years, and influenced by her work with Jack.org, a national mental health organization for youth in Canada, and The Stop, a Toronto-based food community centre, Gillian realized she could make a profound difference in people’s lives through food.  Hence “Food and Mood”.

These experiences led her to the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, where she focused her studies on the research behind how food and lifestyle affect mental well-being, chronic illnesses, energy levels and overall health.

Gillian develops targeted one-on-one nutritional strategies for women in their prime (40’s, 50’s and 60’s), looking to take their health to the next level. Her work has recently expanded to include Wellness at Work corporate presentations and gbwellness Walk and Talks.

When not with clients, you will find Gillian either in her kitchen, walking the Toronto ravines or enjoying a meal with family and friends.
